Founded over 40 years ago by Joseph Leifken Sr., the business began as an American gas station also providing mechanical repairs and auto body work.  Soon the shop became known as the place to go to for frame and structural related damage.  This original frame equipment was manufactured by a company call Bear Automotive Equipment.  This frame machine was so unique at the time an an integral part of the business that the name 'Bear' was even incorporated into the name "Denville Bear & Body Service.  Older folks may even recall the original Bear advertising logo.  This Bear Equipment logo bear is also the model for the Grateful Dead Band dancing bears.

   Although the Bear equipment no longer is used , now available at http://www.cartek.com/  the name has stuck for almost 40 years.   

In 1987 Mr. Leifken retired from the auto body repair business and the family business that he started was purchased by his sons.  Today Denville Bear & Body Service Inc. has grown to over 5 locations and offers most types of auto service from :
